I strongly oppose the teaching of Intelligent Design on scientific and religious grounds. First of all, ID represents bad science. The proponents of ID never designed it to be science, but rather a legal loophole to insert creationism into public schools. Secondly, ID invokes lazy religion. Literal interpretations don't require a deep understanding of the literature or thinking about how such tenets fit within modern society or the world.
